Use the Woodglue Generously

Glueing wood fragments together is a crucial part of woodworking projects and thus, makes it super important to choose the right quality of glue. The glue should be long-lasting, waterproof and make the wood fibre connection strong.

Safety Tip: Use gloves while dealing with it.

Avoid Glue Stains

Clasp the wooden pieces together and use good quality masking tape to cover up the joints. Now segregate the parts and glue them. This way the excess glue drips over the tape without staining the wood.

Staining Wood Perfectly

To start with, sand the wood for a more even finish. Then, draw out the sawdust on wood using a damp cloth or a tack cloth. After that, apply a pre-stain wood conditioner for a visible difference, 5 to 10 minutes before staining. Lastly, apply the stain with a cloth or a foam brush and go for further coats according to your preferences.

Avoid Grainy Texture

To remove grainy texture from wooden items;

  1. Clean the wood thoroughly with a degreaser to avoid film formation.
  2. Sand it to remove the glossy finish and more even texture.
  3. Fill the pits and pores with a wood filler and scrape off the excess
  4. Sand again to smoothen up the surface and reapply wood fillers as required.

Coconut Oil For Refinishing Purposes

A clean and dry wooden item after all the sanding and washing process, a thin coat of coconut oil gives a whole new life to the wooden piece, and it is effortless and keeps all the staining mess away.
